They can also afford to just sell at a loss if they want, similar to how Wal-Mart briefly sold games at $50 new instead of $60 as an incentive for people to buy from them instead of competitors.
I was on reddit once, but now I’m not.
I’m also gk99@kbin.social and gk99@mastodon.world

If you’d like a PS5 community on a less popular instance, feel free to create one and advertise it to build a userbase.
I, personally, believe communities should be hosted in places with staying power so that they never evaporate into thin air. If an instance I’m signed up for disappears, fine, I can make a new account. If an instance a community is on disappears, that’s way more problematic.
Imagine you don’t like your neighbor so you build a wall between you and them so you can’t see each other or interact.
That’s defederation.
No, federation means we all see the same content regardless of which site we sign up on with the exception of sites that yours may block.
But be wary that lemmy.ml is a tankie instance and the “.ml” stands for Marxism-Leninism. I generally avoid lemmy.ml communities so I don’t get banned for saying “the uyghur genocide is a real thing” or anything.
Boost is so good I explicitly just made this account to use it in case kbin support isn’t planned. Can’t wait to pay for premium again and feel like nothing changed.
