The really weird part was this:
The amendment’s language is dangerously vague and unconstrained, and can be weaponized to attack parental rights or defend rapists, pedophiles, and human traffickers.
I mean I know that they love to mix things together, but this might be the first time I’ve seen abortion linked to pedophilia and supporting rapists.
Just as an aside, donating does not have to be monetary. Helping (if possible) with development, triaging issues or helping with support/forums of any kind, along with in general filing good issues goes miles for FOSS projects, especially larger ones with only a few developers.
Serious thanks for all of your hard work, as well as everyone else working on Lemmy through software of running instances.
Memmy is ready 👍
PayPal is notorious for displaying meaningless errors for just about everything, even when it is intentional. Might not be the case here, but they definitely do things like this.
Though if I had to put my money on it, if it isn’t a bug it’s an anti fraud measure of some sort.
Wow, a whopping 100k from Shopify, that’s awesome!
Surprisingly I was just looking and there are a ton of active mods still in development. Pretty cool.
Yes!
This reminds me of how upset I was to break my Battlefront CD when I was younger. One of those games you had to enter the CD for to start. Needless to say, that was what started my torrent and crack experience.
Such a great game. The mods and third party maps were awesome. No edition after the first ever lived up to that, especially this new crap they came out with.
My plex server is the best streaming experience I ever had. Only stopped running it because I just wasn’t watching anything for a good bit. More time on my hands now, so time for a revival.
Can confirm, I got it as the third result on mobile if in incognito. Don’t actually get the result without being in incognito which is odd, but it’s mobile too so results are always a bit different.
Regardless, awesome to see that it’s up there at all!!
Absolutely. I have no problem displaying a few ads with my content if it results in better content. If it’s done responsibly, which it never is. Instead, it’s always an abusive relationship.
This is the scariest part about it
The most noticeable thing when I went back to the site with a fresh account (unfortunately there are still a few real niche communities that I want to participate in that refuse to move) I was inundated with a bunch of right wingy content. New subs like “true unpopular opinion” parrot a bunch of shitty views disguised as “conversations”. Lots of racism, homophobia, and other terrible shit now there right in the open on the home feed.
I think this only works on Windows oddly enough. Probably really trying to push safari on macOS.
The only gripe I have about this is that third party browsers on MacOS don’t support Passkey. If you use Safari it’s absolutely wonderful, but…safari.
Still though, it isn’t incredibly difficult to just go into Settings to get passwords, but it’s still a pain.
I can second this. The only issue out of the box from my experience was getting speeds over 100Mbps working over WiFi, takes a bit of configuring (at least it did for my router).
Another thing that I like is considering not what I can do to “change my life in a year” but “what can I do tomorrow to improve my life even a little bit right now?”
Instead of getting caught up on larger things that might take years to achieve, if I consider something I can change right now that will make tomorrow a better day, those changes will add up much more quickly and noticeably.
Even if I can’t think of something, that’s fine. I can accept that, and just move on to the next day. The important thing is to ask myself this every day, so that I can give myself the option of making that change and having that reflection.
Completely agree! Gnome is nice but never been able to move past KDE if I had to pick a full blown DE.
