Digital surveillance is omnipresent in the west. Apparently nobody cares.

Still no worse than the worst of the male grifters.
The Silicon Valley thieves are just copying and stealing from over a century of US industrial strategy.
Full disclosure, I’m not a metalhead by any means, and Metallica isn’t always considered pure metal, but this one hits just right.
To be fair, it’s not hard to beat expectations when the expectation of the western press is “imminent collapse!!!”
Private property.
This reminds me in broad strokes of the thesis of Sakai’s Settlers, which is roughly contemporary. In the introduction Sakai similarly calls out social sciences like “African American studies” and “Asian American studies” for what they are, the societal position and historiography of these peoples from the perspective of the white settler. Settlers thus aims to discuss the white settler in similar terms, ie. as the subject of such “science.”
Inb4 Deutsche Bahn blames their legions of unforced own goals on ,rUSsiaN hÄcKeRs.
It’s kinda standard but Pihole is how I got into the general realm of home labbing.
Private property.
If we want to exclude athletes from international competition just because the ruling class in the country they happen to have been born in undertakes military action, that’s fine. We just have to be consistent about it. I’d like to see athletes from the US, Isreal, UK, France, Canada, and many other countries treated the same way the west is currently treating Russian and Belorussian athletes.
Cixin Liu. Not only is the Remembrance of Earth’s Past trilogy (Three Body Problem) epic, his short stories are really fun reads.
Happy April Fools!
Political means more than just parties and institutions of government. Society and economy is inherently political. Who owns what is produced and the tools used to produce it is inherently political. Therefore software development, just like any other type or work or other economic interaction, is political.
The DDR truly was something special. Didn’t they even start before the 1980s with LGBT rights and medical care?
That is reasonable from the perspective of the US ruling class though. They are fascist. Anti-fascism presents a threat to their interests.
The whole Russiagate thing is just ghost stories democrats tell themselves, and even if it were true it doesn’t justify torturing anyone or threatening the very concept of journalism.
Socialist enterprise and markets can be competitive, in fact more competitive than a capitalist system. China is actually super innovative now, having caught up technologically with the west in part by leveraging the same import substitution policies and general disregard for other countries’ capitalist’s “intellectual property” which drove industrialization in the western nations.
The two big differences between socialism with Chinese characteristics and western neoliberalism are the fact that SWCC places at its core collective ownership of the means of production and state investment in developing said means of production. Whereas the west privatizes everything and only invests state funds in the further enrichment of the few who own said privatized means of production.
The entire EU supply chain is subsidized.
