I have a trauma-based personality disorder, which sometimes manifests itself in episodes of often uncontrollable bouts of verbal violence. I prefer to direct this to people on the internet (as opposed to actual people), as I don’t wish to be violent towards people I actually care about.

  • Yeah, this fearmongering is exactly the reason I don’t really follow any mainstream media outlets, and absolutely none from my country of residence. It’s always the same. Also yeah, lemmy.world is quite a bit too right-leaning for my tastes, so I rarely frequent it. For me it’s closing on the feeling I get when I visit reddit: disgust. Like stepping into a steaming pile of pig shit. And don’t get me wrong, I ain’t saying everyone should just roll over and die when the tanks come a-rolling, were they Russian or American.

What I’m saying is that the rich should be eaten or else killed with no due process, their capital seized with no recompence, every politican killed and burned in a great big pile, all means of production seized by the workers, and a new world order put up by the workers which should adhere to communistic and marxist-leninist principles.

And uh, the first “we” was in reference to all European nations putting money that could and should be used for literally anything else into militaries. The second was in reference to the EU as I live in a country in said union.

  • Well, we do have something of a global presence still. And also money and manpower, that any good capitalist pig like Putin realizes he must have. I’m just disgusted by this fucking fearmongering. The best thing you can do as an insignificant worker for the lords with all the money is to start fearing whatever it is that you are told to fear, and remain in that fear forever. That keeps you obedient. And when the population on both sides are fearful enough the lords with all the money will agree to a war, so that the cycle of war and fear and exploitation of the working class will continue again, and the command over the lives of the working class will never be in the hands of the working class people. And the lords with all the money will remain to be the lords with all the money. And nothing will ever change.

  • Well our current president, who looks like a reptilian zombie with a human skin oddly draped over him, campaigned with the thought of “allowing NATO nuclear weapons on our soil”, and if it weren’t for the fact that he has been, was, is, and will forever be a capitalist right-wing populist of the worst kind, that might’ve been the final straw for not voting for him.

Others still “serving” our great nation include the speaker of the parliament, who is a straight up far-righter; a racist and a fascist. He used to be the leader of our far-right party, but after failing in the presidential elections he switched to his current position. Then there’s the leader of the far-right party, who serves as our minister of finance. She also seems like a horrible human being who deserves to get from a bullet, as she is responsible for the cuts in aid all the poor, the sick, the children, the young, the students and the immigrants, most of all who are not-as-wealthy-as-her here have faced after the last government took power.

And then there’s of course our prime minister, who is nothing but a puppet of the far-right, though he represents the same party as the president had, the right populists. An insidious kind of a fucking mitten who should die with the rest of them.

  • He’s probably a grade-A bootlicker for the fascists, specifically for those sucking each-others’ toes in the White House. Conservatives and cis-people tend to be weird like that I’ve heard. Which is good for those in charge, as the people crave for TikTok for its druglike addictive qualities and thus the current King (bless His orange visage) in the White House (long may He reign) would get more of the people’s approval, while having bootlickers like these dudes in charge of it He’d also appease the zionists’ thirst to kill, rape, pillage, burn, enact genocide and rule over every muslim and muslim territory in the area, specifically right now the Palestinians, unimpeded, by blocking everything that even slightly smells of being pro-Palestine.

Indeed. But does it really matter who sells who which area of land, with all the people and other natural resources contained within the area, if it just leads to a future where the rich stay rich, the people (of the areas) stay poor, and the bombings never cease?

As to the question: a desolate, corporation-owned and capitalistically-ran dystopian hellscape apparently?

  • Yeah, I don’t care and never will care how good of a product some fucking capitalist techpig has created. I am that kind of a person who feels nauseous when confronted with AI-slop on the internet, like on youtube or something. Just now I uninstalled Firefox and removed my mozilla account because it seemed to me that they are going to turn completely fascist (considering how they force AI and other capitalist shit on you) any moment now.

So yeah, you’ve outed yourself as either an uninformed or misinformed useful idiot for the capitalists, or a willing bootlicker. I suggest you get up to speed on the goings-on in the world and what you should be doing in order to fight it. Like survival in the woods, how to operate high-calibre firearms, and the means to produce explosives and/or incendiaries. Or, you know, stop complying with what the capitalists tell you to accept - stuff like AI, always online DRM, internet of things…

Ok so this is the worst thing I can think of, mainly because now there will be an absolute metric assload of an influx of newbies to Linux with the reading comprehension of a fucking toddler (ie. the entire fanbase of this fucknut whose probably apparently still a fucking nazi or something? Don’t know, never could stand him) flooding forums and other places after some “artificial intelligence helper” of some megacorporation told them to “sudo rm -rf /” or something. Let’s just hope they’ll mostly stick to everywhere else but here

  • Gonna have to go with alcohol and benzodiazepine abuse for this one, basically because it’s the only one that I have beaten (citation needed). Only one relapse in the past 10-ish years or so! Though it took a few relationships with it, and I’ve gone through multiple hospitalizations (some even voluntarily), and because of that combo and all the other shit that was going on in my head (not to mention the cocktail of SSRIs and eventual SNRIs like Effexor at max dosage combined with stuff like Seroquel at max dosage for literal years, of which Effexor is still the bane of my existence; and stuff like ECT) there’s like this hazy quality in my own past for me. As if I’m talking about someone else. I can’t even remember most of my life from around 2013-2018 or so.

I’d say the worst part about abusing benzos with alcohol is how good it feels. I still have the cravings. Like even now I’d be up for it. That combined with the fact that it only brings out the worst in me, every narcissistic and sosiopathic tendency is not only brought forth but amplified also. And it’s unhealthy in general.

So if you don’t happen to die in your sleep; once you wake up and realize just how many people you’ve hurt, when the full weight of your own actions and the coming consequences descend upon you, you just might hope that you did. Vice, thy name is me

  • Yes, I agree, and I do believe the kid’s parents would also agree. And it’s not like the kid is given free reign to roam the internet, looking for the most cancerous, brain rotting, worst AI-slob the internet can provide, no. It’s more like a TV basically, with age appropriate shows running in the background, and in our own language no less. He basically seems to occasionally take like a breather of sorts, stopping for something to bite or a sip of his milk or whatever, before running along with his childish endeavors.

But yeah, absolutely. Too much screentime in early childhood can and will lead to developmental delays, and in order to raise the optimal human being one should optimize every aspect of the child’s life, adjusting at optimal intervals all according to the child’s personal development. But you know, life doesn’t work like that. And yet, as I just stated to the comment you replied to, I am thankful for your concern; we’re all trying to do our best for this kid. If my little gift of an old laptop can bring joy and happiness into that little dude’s life, that is basically enough for me.

  • I really don’t want to start arguing against this sentiment, because I agree with it. But the kid in question is not my son, and however much I personally don’t agree with using a screen as much as my friends have with the kid, I also understand why it has come to this (that the kid’s parents had decided to use a screen to calm him down, which it does) and how different peoples’ life situations can be. Also it’s not like he’s completely swallowed by the bright lights and colours and noises the screen provides, at least as far as I can tell, as whenever I am or anyone else is around he likes to do other things as well (such as playing with his physical toys or engaging in other activies kids like to do, such as climbing furniture and doing somersaults and stuff) though I’m obviously not there all the time. Also he goes to daycare where the screentime is minimized I assume, and more emphasis is given to social education and stuff.

And this laptop wouldn’t even be his first, this would be basically an upgrade over the old, beaten-up laptop his dad has had laying around.

So yes, thank you (all of you, other comments as well) for your concern for this child’s wellbeing. We will continue doing what we can towards doing the best we can with the information we have at the given moment.
