using a free VoIP number isn’t an option cause the moment you remove it discord with boot you off again, and keeping it is a huge security risk.
if you’re a new discord account it’s (in my experience) not possible to go without a verified phone number, their system is too sensitive
I don’t get it tho, if a in your eyes good person wrote Lemmy what differences does it make? are the current devs pushing their agenda in the code or whatever? it’s literally all open source
the thing with chromium being everywhere is with the illusion of choice. there’s like 10 major browsers, as a end-user who doesn’t really know any better they might all seem different but in reality theyrall based on chromium, with Firefox being the exception
afaik, because of the current lack of good moderation tools it would be hard to keep the community to their standard with the huge amount of new lemmiers
