23·5 months agoI use Autodesk Inventor when at work, but I’m trying to learn FreeCAD for my own hobby project. And while I’ve had to reprogram some workflows I’m slowly getting there. What really excites me about FreeCAD is the different workbenches, such as CfdOf which gives you a nice and understandable gui for OpenFOAM, finally making CFD somewhat accessible to the masses.
There’s also a lot of new and improved functionality coming out with 0.22.
Print a plastic hub and insert before you vacuumed seal, easy to reuse and makes the cardboard rolls easy
there’s a wide range of solvents that you can use to smooth the surfaces with a “vapor bath” depending on you’re material
Etter rabalderet i fjor så er det svakt å gå ut å «tro». Uansett sa barneskolelæreren min at det er noe en gjør i kirka 🤷♂️

I would recommend a printer with automatic bed leveling (ABL), at some point you want it and installing it later, while possible on many printers, is a hassle. I was sitting on the fence a long time myself. Ended up buying a “FLSUN Q5” as my first printer and I couldn’t be happier.
I know there’s some pushback at delta printers for first timers, but I just love how it looks when they print.

I’m really happy with my FLSUN Q5 printer, it’s a small easy to use machine with auto bed leveling. It’s not for sale anymore, but you can pick up some of their newer machines for around 200€ pre-owned, or if you have the time, wait for one of their frequent sales to come around to pick up a new machine.
