Show: Love, Death and Robots. It’s fantastic but some of the episodes just hit too hard. I’ll eventually get back to it, I just need some time
Game: Cyberpunk. I was looking something up and found out what happens to Evelyn. I kinda look like her a bit, and have also dealt with (much milder) issues in the same category. Too brutal
Movie: I actually watched it all the way, but the first time I watched American Beauty is just fucked me up for like, a week
I’ve already watched it, but my husband and I are going through it again because he hasn’t seen it. We binge watch most shows, but Mr. Robot is HEAVY and it gets heavier and weirder until the end.
My advice while watching it is to detach from the characters. Accept that anyone can die at any moment, often horribly, but know that the ending is bitter-sweet and that the show is absolutely worth the watch

I’m not trans, but I wholeheartedly agree with you. As living beings we deserve autonomy, which includes the right to make choices that we may later regret. It isn’t up to anyone else but the individual to decide what’s right for them. It’s no-one else’s business (especially the government)
Right? If it just went up a bit I wouldn’t have blinked an eye. Ads on something I (technically my dear husband) already pay for just pisses me off. It feels like they’re holding ad-free viewing hostage
I was born with one and it was partially corrected at birtb. I can’t stick my tongue out far, but I have none of the other issues you’ve listed (partly because I’m a woman married to a man).
I highly doubt you would regret having it done as long as you’re in a clean environment with a surgeon who knows what they are doing
Even if I don’t agree with some of his choices, I strongly appreciate that he’s making decisions for himself. We need more free-thinkers, more people who are able to stand up with a differing opinion from their party. We need open discourse, not total compliance
This never ceases to make me smile, no matter how many times it’s reposted
I’ve always been a native English speaker, but my first 11 years of education weren’t in the U.S. I also don’t have an issue with: their, there, and they’re.
Affect and effect were tough for me, though. I still have to think about it for a moment
And slightly off topic, I still can’t tell the difference between pansexual and bisexual. Each time I feel like I have a decent internal definition someone comes along to inform me that I’ve got it wrong
Idk. I recognize a lot of my beliefs and behaviours as cringe, but I think I’ve cringed so hard at them that I’m now on the other side of that. I look back at my ignorant, gullible, past-self with compassion and the understanding that I’m still likely holding on to incorrect beliefs (and that I’ll likely continue to grow through them) It’s partly why I tend to be so argumentative, I think. (How do you grow without challenge?)
I currently hold the belief of: Love yourself, it’ll help to generate more compassion for those around you
(Though I confess I still have many moments of wanting to call people idiots, and it takes a lot to realize that I, too, could be the idiot. It’s a process, ya know?)
Depends on the game, for me. I couldn’t imagine trying to play a game like Stellaris on a console- but a game like Horizons is better suited to a console system. I play Skyrim (yes, I know) with a controller on pc, tho. Husband and I played Diablo4 with me using the console and him using his laptop with my wide-screen moved into the livingroom temporarily
Personally I think both are needed for optimal gaming.
I’ve answered two recently, but hadn’t answered them for about 6 mo to a year or so.
Before that- probably 3 years ago, now, I contacted the carrier about spam texts from websites and that stopped, though I still get spam texts from numbers (mostly political)
This number belonged to someone who was ditching creditors, so I think they eventually sold the number and it just gets passed around. Half the reason I keep it is so that it doesnt get released to someone else (it’s like something out of a pass-it-along horror movie)
Most of the time I dont care, but occationally I leave the volume up for some reason and end up with a 6am wake up spam call. I can ignore it 90% of the time
They do not go away. I have literally forgotten about this phone to the point of it being dead/drained for an extended period of time… they calls never stop
You can sometimes get a fresh number. I got lucky with mine (keep my junk phone for club-cards and the like)
Tried this a couple of times, but they kept calling my junk phone. I got like 7 or 8 calls the day after Thanksgiving. I block the numbers, but the next number will just be one or two digits different
I keep the junk phone for things like shopping clubs, pharmacy reminders, etc. I have a seperate number for people and trusted sources (though I realize that anyone can be compromised. I’ll get a fresh number once that happens again)
Anyway, point is- I dont think they’re human scammers. At least not the ones calling me
Yeah, our problem is we have 4 cats. Vomit and occational butt-nuggets are a thing, and I don’t want that smeared across the foor
“Stay away” with various methods given to understand the meaning of the words (images, signs, numbers, sounds, etc)
There are laws against breaking into people’s houses, but it still happens. Just because someone proclaims something illegal doesn’t mean it just stops happening. That’s just not how the world works
An old friend, back when I was 17/18 or so, told me about the last time she had a kitten.
The kitten somehow got into the WASHER and her busy and absent-minded mother didn’t realize it until the kitten had already drowned. Her mother drove herself (and the kitten) to the police department because she felt so bad.
After that I have always checked for cats. Even now, at almost 40 (I even check the oven)! My husband thinks it’s over-kill, but I’m never gonna get that horror story out of my head
