  • I had one of these done for an endoscopy - it ended horribly. It got “stuck” so I ended up having to have surgery for it to be removed.

Getting that surgery coordinated and scheduled took months all the while my health was declining. Eventually it got so bad that I couldn’t hold down food and I had to be pre-admitted to the hospital a month before the procedure and put on IV nutrition…

Granted I do have an autoimmune GI condition which is what prompted that test in the first place, and the chances of this happening is supposedly quite small but… Yeah I’ll take the endoscopy and colonoscopy over even that small chance of going through all of that all over again…

  • I’m a bit upset at my GI’s office, I was supposed to have a follow up appointment with them on May, then they rescheduled it for August due to a conflict with the doctor’s schedule, and now they’ve called me again to say they need to reschedule it again for the same reason…

I would love to switch doctors, but there aren’t many GIs in the area that I live (that I haven’t already been to, its been a horrendous battle) - missed their call so I’m not sure how far out the scheduling is now, but I wouldn’t be surprised if its nothing sooner than October…

So, I’m off to a great start today. Hopefully that is the only negative thing that occurs today.

No problem! I’ve really enjoyed Runemaster so far since I’ve always been someone who favored magic based classes. With Runic Invocation there are so many different spell combinations that you can pull off (I can’t possibly memorize them all, I think there’s around 50 of them?) which is really fun!

I need to try out Spellblade at some point, that’ll probably be my next class that I try out. Their new season (“Cycles”) launches at the beginning of next month (July 9th IIRC), so I haven’t decided if I’ll try to wait till then or if I’ll try to give it a go before then.

  • I haven’t tried it myself, but I believe the OC is referring to the webcam USB mode that Pixels (idk if this is an Android feature or a “Pixel” feature) have. To enable it, connect over USB then you’ll have a notification along the lines of “Charging this device over USB”.

If you click that notification it’ll let you enable Webcam over USB mode, which I assume just causes the phone to act as any other webcam device would.

I’ve really enjoyed the ARPGs that I’ve played (D3, a bit of Grim Dawn, Last Epoch, and hell as of the recent update even D4) but I find that I am terrible at build crafting - and the really bad brain fog that I’ve had for over a year now doesn’t help that at all.

I find that I just constantly hit a wall that I can’t push past, and then run into the “Now what?” - every now and then I’ll play with some build guides online and tinker with them, but for me that isn’t as fun as coming up with something completely on my own.

That all being said, LE has been my favorite as of recently - it’s definitely still a light on content (1.0 just released this year), but over time I think it’ll be very high up there on everyone’s list.

I feel like I had a much easier time understanding the systems in LE than the other games (except for maybe D4 which was a bit too simple, though they’re starting to change it up a bit with the recent patches) but LE’s item and skill systems also clearly have a very high ceiling of what you can do with them.

I guess for me, what I really liked about it is that even with all the brain fog I could still get into the systems and pick it up quickly, yet also still see where it can certainly get more and more complex as you push your builds higher and higher, even if I’m not completely at that point yet.

I hope some of my ramblings made at least a little bit of sense 😅

  • Things are also constantly improving over time as well, so its very possible that OP’s setup was somewhat problematic a while ago but have since been resolved.

Which would also make sense if the hardware itself was super new at the time, and didn’t have proper kernel modules for it when it was originally released perhaps.

  • The dentist office is definitely my least favorite doctor/medical office to go to, but it is so worth it when that pain that has been driving you insane for months is finally over with!

I had a friend who told me his dentist recommended he had his wisdom teeth removed, and it had been over a year since he was told that. I explained to him that its best to just get it taken care of as quickly as possible and getting the appointment booked before it starts bothering him, since once that pain starts occurring it gets intense very fast - and I don’t know about other places, but there is always a very long wait time (3+ months) to get an appointment for the dentist (let alone an oral surgeon) and you do not want to have to deal with that pain for that long… nothing comes close to taking the edge off of it…

Funnily enough, I have a dentist appointment tomorrow afternoon, I’m getting some fillings done that are certainly overdue.

  • Were you using X11 before, by chance? IIRC Fedora 40 dropped X11, and only ships with Wayland by default. The fact that all of your apps are using the same screen sharing interface sounds like they’re using the screen share portal due to running under a Wayland session, which Discord doesn’t currently support currently.

For a while there was a workaround using a tool called XWaylandVideoBridge but even that stopped working for me.

I’ve heard that Vesktop supports screensharing under Wayland (and supposedly with sound support too), and it is available on Flathub - might be worth a try.

  • I’d love to find an alternative to xdotool’s auto type feature (or ClickPaste from Windows).

There is wtype but unfortunately it doesn’t work in KDE nor GNOME because neither of them support the right protocol. I’ve run into the “<DE> hasn’t implemented $PROTOCOL” a few times in the past and it’s certainly a bit annoying.

Aside from when that comes up, I don’t really have any complaints. A tool we used for work was never going to be fully functional on Wayland because of its dependence on Xinerama (I think) but thankfully we’ve moved away from it.

  • AFAIK the inbox analogy that the previous user wrote applies on an instance level, so in your example the LW admin would still see it (assuming it was against a LW user or something in one of their communities, I believe).

The “mark report as resolved” option doesn’t federate to other instances, if that makes sense. It’ll mark it as resolved for that whole instance (so a community mod won’t see the report anymore once an admin from that instance marks it as resolved and vice versa), but not other instances.

At least, that’s as far as I understand it, don’t quote me on that 😅
