I will menton that all of their apps (both from GP and F-Droid) work great on my OOTB Galaxy 21 and send all notifications (emails, calendar events, etc.) to my Samsung Gear 3 watch no issues.

Let’s not forget that the point of Proton’s services is encryption. The more points you want it to go through (Proton to Cal{SVC} to Android calendar app to watch), the more you have to relinquish that security if they aren’t cooperative/companion apps.

For example, I use Proton on the web (through Tor, actually) because I get the security. If I used the Bridge, I’d be decrypting a layer just so I could use a favored email application.

People think motivation comes before action, but it is actually the reverse. You have to decide (not be motivated) to act, and the motivation will follow.

You just never use a desktop profile. You have an account on mobile, and every time you go desktop you sign in with the app and qr code so you’re always using the same db on each machine.

My desktop app has zero profiles and no db; I only sign in with my mobile.

My router’s admin console, OOTB, gives me the option to either deny individual devices (based on MAC, etc.) access to the external internet, or create a second (or third, etc.) WiFi network that, itself, is not connected to the outside.

Perhaps you have similar settings?

Before having read any replies, I’d already scheduled a doctor visit. Tinnitus being my first guess. Still, it’s limited to specific circumstances, and I have near-perfect pitch, so I thought maybe my mind was simply consuming/interpreting additional data. Still, it will be investigated.

I found the Schizophrenia comments… interesting, because it does run in the family. I will make sure the physician is thorough and considers all possibilities.

I don’t mind of both devices have to be on the same network. I tried KDE and it just didn’t work the same way I was hoping. Will give it another shake.

I mean, perfect solution would be something like Google Voice where I could use it from any device with an internet connection, regardless of whether there a carrier device that’s even on.

Twilio may be an option (and I have enough programming chops to make my own interface), just want attracted to the (reasonable) cost.

I’ll look into it, but I’m in favor of SMS exclusively (syncing) so I can see all/whole conversations and to just get all notifications and quick-reply to the texts as I get them.

Could you elaborate on how to implement the curl solution?

It’s super easy to just collect then when you see them (even at craft stores and plant shops) and then it ends up kinda encouraging you to think up adventures so you can fill them.

I’ve got some with sand, dirt, ocean/lake water, gravel, some with just air (captured a cloud/fog while high atop a mountain), tears, paper, burnt campfire wood, etc.

My secret sauce is that I don’t label them so I have to try to call up the origin story in memory and I get an excuse to tell a tale whenever someone asks me about one.

I have a lot of small bottles and vials waiting to be filled. It started decades ago when I found a quaint little glass tube with a stopper in an antique shop at my favorite beach town and thought it’d be nice to take home some sand from my favorite spot, thereafter becoming a tradition for subsequent visits. Now I pick one up whenever I see one to have a cache available for any future adventures.
