Starting in June 2023 and Chrome 115, Google “may run experiments to turn off support for Manifest V2 extensions in all channels, including stable channel.” Also starting in June, the Chrome Web Store will stop accepting Manifest V2 extensions, and they’ll be hidden from view. In January 2024, Manifest V2 extensions will be removed from the store entirely.
Google says Manifest V3 is “one of the most significant shifts in the extensions platform since it launched a decade ago.” The company claims that the more limited platform is meant to bring “enhancements in security, privacy, and performance.” Privacy groups like the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) dispute this description and say that if Google really cared about the security of the extension store, it could just police the store more actively using actual humans instead of limiting the capabilities of all extensions.
The big killer for ad block extensions comes from changes to the way network request modifications work. Google says that “rather than intercepting a request and modifying it procedurally, the extension asks Chrome to evaluate and modify requests on its behalf.” Chrome’s built-in solution forces ad blockers and privacy extensions to use the primitive solution of a raw list of blocked URLs rather than the dynamic filtering rules implemented by something like uBlock Origin. That list of URLs is limited to 30,000 entries, whereas a normal ad block extension can come with upward of 300,000 rules.
Only if logging out actively invalidates session tokens, which appears to have not been the case. https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/3364
Hey, that’s not a fair evaluation of the US ‘Justice’ system. Being rich has a lot to do with your success as well.
It’s a lot easier to shovel a foot of snow thrice than it is to shovel 3 feet of snow that’s compacted, melted down a bit, formed a freezing layer on top and ice on the bottom, and now your shovel is broke because you were trying to pry up that ice with 60lb of snow on top of it.
But at that point you say fuck it and just pay a guy to swing by with his plow and throw out some salt.
I appreciate the sentiment though.
So, like, obviously you’re a fucking idiot but beside that what are you even talking about? I’m not going to bother reading your unhinged reply, but seriously, it’s not like anyone is up in arms about this in the comments or frankly care all that much.
Why was it a concern? There’s a valid question, it was an unidentified white powder it could have been something dangerous. Okay there’s a reasonable explanation.
But again, nobody really cares. Wow, people use drugs. Gasp. Get a fucking grip. I’ve found most people who are critical of government leadership using drugs are critical of the hypocrisy, not the drugs themselves, because they understand prohibition is taking away their liberty. Actual liberty, not the kind of hate mongering fascists call liberty.
If people actually cared about something like this happening in China, I’d wager, is because it would be surprising somebody would be brave enough to obtain cocaine and then bring it into a government entity in a totalitarian regime where literally fucking killing you is the punishment for possession.
But again, not gonna read your reply. There’s actually an instance for idiots like you, maybe go find lemmygrad so you can be coddled in your safe space with like-minded shitbags instead of bringing your weird shit here.
I’ve found myself actually reading articles since I can’t go in and just read someone else’s synopsis of the content, which frankly is a good thing. I can get my own information and form my own opinions, Reddit just let me be lazy but it’s a nice change.
As for engagement, just be the change your wish to see, and engagement will follow. I think there is still some fine tuning to be done in terms of the sorting algorithms as well, which would ideally get day old content out and active but fresh content in. A lot of dust left to settle with the great migration underway.
Everything related to healthcare costs in the US should be taken with a pound of salt. The system is like Whose Line is it Anyway? Everything is made up and the costs don’t matter.
This article focuses on how turning over Roe vs Wade is leaving families with fewer options and greater burdens, especially those without insurance, but without systemic reform - things like removing unnecessary middlemen, setting reasonable limits on services and medications, giving paid leave for illness and family care, and removing the necessity of employment from getting affordable care - people will grow ever burdened by the corporate healthcare system.
It’s truly a shame when you go to the doctors in the US it feels more like negotiating with a used car salesman than it does getting health care.
Can <insert basically any corporation> not try to fuck people over for 5 minutes?
Giving Nazis a platform is fucking cringe.
Careful with that tinfoil, you might get cut. Bud.
GTFO with your both parties are the same bullshit.
Is capitalism and the elite ruling class controlling our society? In a lot of ways, yes. Do the Democratic Party leaders do bad things? Sure.
But the Republican party is actively engaged in taking away people’s rights and freedoms. They prop up unabashed fascists.
Both parties are not the fucking same. And it’s this kind of whataboutism that got Trump elected in the first place.
‘Historic’ number of people don’t want this thing happening for the first time to happen.
Wow, such history!
Hopefully Desantis and Trump spend much of their money, time, and effort shitting all over one another to lessen the chance of fascist scum finding their way back into the Whitehouse.
What’s your goal in making a game? You mention you haven’t got many people to play with irl, so are you considering making a single player game?
Are you just trying to save money so you don’t need to pay for other games? (If it’s this one, I’ve got some bad news for you as making games is extremely time intensive. It may be relatively cheap but you’d be better off working part time for a week and buying the game you want rather than spending hundreds or thousands of hours creating something new.)
Another thing to consider, even if you are making a single player game, is you’re going to need to test your game. A lot. And while testing on your own, hundreds of times, is going to be necessary, you’re also going to need to get feedback from other players - some who will struggle through your rules to learn how to play, helping you improve that aspect. Others who will try to break the game, helping you balance the game. Others will simply play it and just give you feedback to tell you whether or not it’s fun, but if you want other people to be and to enjoy your game (and not everyone will, no matter how good it is) you’ll need other people to test it and give a perspective you simply can’t have developing it entirely on your own.
You said you don’t have access to a lot of games already, but having experience playing a wide variety of different games of different genres will be important to help you figure out what your game needs to make it fun and balanced.
I’d suggest putting some time into researching game design theory to help you understand what kinds of things are going on under the hood in game development.
Most importantly, make sure you’re having fun doing it. Game development can be a slog but if you’re passionate about what you’re doing it’s worth it enjoying your game and seeing others enjoy your game in the end.
My electric kettle is almost always on. One with stay warm function and temperature control is great to accommodate the different temps I may want for various teas or coffee. It’s also useful for speeding up cooking when I need to get a pot of water boiling.
I can’t necessarily recommend a specific one though, my old gooseneck spout kettle was great for pouring but the screws holding the handle in place rusted out and the plastic clips broke. My current one is insolated to help stay warm longer which is nice but the plastic lid has begun deteriorating. The only advice I could really offer is find something with as little plastic as possible in it’s construction, especially where it may touch water or steam.
It’s difficult to take anything Rubio is saying seriously (I mean who would anyway, he’s a Florida Republican) after his very likely deliberate choice in rhetoric calling them “Pro Abortion” rather than acknowledging a woman’s choice to control her own body.
While I appreciate your sentiment, Pandas definitely might beat us. They’re already endangered and they’re fucking idiots.
