Honestly, if I’m costing the company that made my TV money just because I refuse to let it track me, all the better. They deserve it for trying to crab that shit up my ass in the first place!

Cool, a pic from the dub stage!
If you have a nice enough router you could connect your TV to it and block its Mac address maybe.

The 5th of November…oh shit that was yesterday.
Are we in the V for vendetta timeline now?
Welcome new lemmy users!
Don’t know who your favorite creators are, but many of my favorite creators are on nebula, so at least thats a start.
Nebula is a pretty decent paid platform with a lot of short form YouTube style content on it. Pretty sure its significantly better on privacy policy as well.
OK so I’m user Linux and currently using nobara(GE’s version of fedora). Should I be considering a distro hop in the near future?
Yes, up to minimum wage, which is still often not enought to live on.
I would call parts of the us developed and other parts of the US refusing to develop.
I mean, this just makes sense. If you are a content creator on reddit then you are subject to reddits whim, meanwhile content creators on lemmy get to choose an instance that moderates/admins closer to their needs and if that instance stops being useful to them for whatever reason, they can just pack up and move to another one. The more we scale the more prominent this effect will be and as long as we have some amount of organic growth we are destined to outcompete reddit I think.
Woooooo comment sorting!!! (And other great things I’m sure, but) HORRAY COMMENT SORTING!!!
Wonder what ther’re going to do about r/political humor, since everyone subbed to it is a mod weather they want to be or not.
Aaaaaaaaa why sideways?
I would even say that at least 3 tiers of defederation are nessesary:
Remote instance users can interact with local instance by posting and commenting on local instance, but remote communities are blocked on local instance
Remote users can see posts/comments from local instance, but not the other way around and commenting and posting is disabled both ways
Full defederation as it works right now. Neither instance can see content from the other.
