Had to deal with an owl stuck in a chimney once, got a bit of advice from a chimney sweep: “Bash against the chimney to make as much noise as possible, that usually gets them to leave”. Went ahead and tried it, gave the chimney a good bashing, out went the (albeit a bit soot stained) owl, sat on the rim of chimney for a bit, giving off intense stares of disapproval, and finally flew off.
Both the warning lights and the rain can be easily explained by some brain dead suit buying the wrong kind of fire suppression system because sprinklers using water are much cheaper than a system using a gaseous agent.
