We don’t talk a lot in public about the big vision for Tailscale, why we’re really here. Usually I prefer to focus on what exists right now, and what we’re going to do in the next few months. But let’s look at the biggest of big pictures for a change.
Why are there so many downvotes on this?
Bs title? No content in the post beyond a link?
I don’t get it either! It’s a good article and I 100% agree with the author. Maybe it’s because it’s talking about a service and the whole article can be considered as advertisement, but I don’t agree.
Yeah, I don’t agree with the conclusion (like at all), but I still found the first 3/4 of the article very nicely put and definitely worth reading.
Because it’s an ad.
Interesting, that seems to be the reason for most. Under which circumstances if any would you upvote a perceived advertisement?
Would you upvote a well written advertisement that you think makes the company’s intention very clear to the reader? Would you do so if the intention not only sounded realistic, but also like they want to achieve something net-positive?
Or is it really just being an advertisement that makes you downvote?
I just want it to be disclosed that this is a form of advertisement before I click on the link:
The post should be clearly marked as advertisement in the title, e.g.
[advertisement] Title
And the post should contain a summary or at least an abstract, not just a link.
No, advertising is a cancer that is destroying the web.
