Even back in the Korean War, while the North Korean KPA was very effective, that was mostly due to significant support from China and the Soviet Union (and on the other side, the South Korean ROKA was only able to push back with significant American support).
That’s why I stopped recruiting North Koreans for my mercenary group. They always want equipment and rations. Like, don’t you have fingernails and teeth? Eat a raccoon and quit asking me for help. Damn. I’m already paying you 500 won a day.

Each? Those are pretty cheap fighters, since the current exchange rate for 500 Afghani is $7.63 US.
I mean, it doesn’t make life any easier for Ukraine.
Also, while whatever North Korea’s sent – I’ve seen 15k – and whatever their role is, we don’t know whether this is a first installment or not.
