  • You’d want people to pay you for using a product they consume, especially if it’s a quality product. You sound like you’re entitled to free shit just because someone made their “fair share” off a game, and I’m sure that fair share is whatever arbitrary number you deem valid, which I’m guessing is low.

I’m saying, pay developers if you enjoy their stuff, especially indie developers. Vote with your wallet. Make it known you enjoy their stuff, so they make more of it. If you want to pirate, feel free, I encourage it, but also pay people what their worth if you can afford to do so. That’s my main point.

For you, do whatever the fuck you want because you’re not interested in listening to logic or reasoning anyway.

  • It’ll largely be an echo chamber regardless of size. The fediverse tends to lean into tech, and is very left wing. If you don’t fit the bill, you are either driven off, de-federated with, or realize the content posted here isn’t what you’re looking for, and you leave.

I don’t mind the small knit community, as I agree with most stuff, but this simply isn’t a place you can host competing ideas, or at least not feasibly. This isn’t a place for open discussion. You get down voted for your opinion, even if it is a shitty one. This isn’t the fediverse I want to see. I want to see people upvoted for their opinion, and enticed to engage with whatever discourse is present, regardless of views. Downvotes should be reserved for trolls, bots, and fascists. Everyone else should be welcome.

  • Fully left Reddit. Hate that they killed Sync so bounced. Don’t miss it at all.

The flip side is Lemmy is meh. Every damn post is Linux shilling. We get it. Lemmy users like Linux. At least Sync works on this site.

Ultimately, I guess I just don’t care about either site. I just want something to mindlessly browse for a few minutes every day when I’m shitting, and Lemmy is fine.
