Wow, exactly the feature I wanted. An account that Microsoft can link its spyware too. I’m sure that database won’t be sold or stolen.

I finally switched to Linux and I couldn’t be happier. I can’t believe I put up with microsofts garbage for so damn long.
We should have let the government actually break up microsofts monopoly long ago. Now they will abuse it to force millions of Americans to use their spyware.
Google is such a greedy group of jackasses. Using their browser monopoly to shore up their ad monopoly should be a crime.

Not terribly surprised, new platform that’s still teething. I’ve said it before but we will go through multiple growth and contraction waves if we all care to stick around long enough.
Personally I’m liking the smaller community so far. Definitely could use some growth, but more people comes with a lot of problems reddit has.
Somewhat expected, probably will be multiple waves of people joining with small declines in the months immediately after. Some of those less engaged individuals will come back too, and some of each wave will stay. I stayed from this last wave of reddit users. I’ve been using three lemmy accounts and my Mastodon since the incident. I intend to keep doing it, it’s been a lot fun.
Love it but I only really share it when I feel like it. I’m pretty straight passing so it’s easy for me to just live my life. My favorite thing about it, is how it really opened my eyes to all the fun stuff in the world I was dismissing because it didnt fit with normal gender roles. It helped me find security in my masculinity and it improved my ability to communicate my feelings. Hanging out with other members of the LGBT community had a profound effect on my politics as well and helped me realize some of my speech was rather hurtful. I went from a conservative, to an independent, to a heavily armed socialist volunteering as an election judge for my DFL caucus district in rural Minnesota. It’s also given me the good fortune to help other LGBT community members, bigots are a lot less likely to argue with an angry straight passing weirdo in public.
It’s had a really positive effect on my life, and even helped me meet my bi-wife.
I would make a lemmy world account personally, it’s tough to say what will happen long term with .ml domains. Even if your account still works, it may by hampered getting posts from the rest of the fediverse. Worst case scenario you have account on two popular lemmy instances.
About damn time.
