I agree, we all have search engines and if someone doesn’t understand a word or phrase they can learn it on their own. Brilliant write up!
Well, not that shocked…
Looks like forced perspective. I think the hawk isn’t looking at the little bird, but from our angle it looks like they’re face to face, so we assume they are much closer than they are.
Hard to tell if this is a proposal to fight over hardware or an offer for free stuff.
I choose to believe the former because it makes me chuckle more.
IANANutritionist, but you might want to get some more fiber in your diet.
Can someone provide a summary on what this means? I thought there were malicious exploits in this. Why is it back up and the perpetrator unbanned?
Do individual socks count? If so, buying a 10 pack of socks and a 6 pack of undies gets you through half a year by this metric.
Personally I think the biggest hurdle will be moderation and defederation as it pertains to the first amendment. I believe there was already a supreme Court case where blocking a user on Twitter (from an official govt account) was deemed unconstitutional. This precedent might mean a govt instance is not allowed to defederate with any other server unless they defederate with all(?) This is pure speculation on my part, but I can guarantee it would go to the courts.
I feel so bad for the owls in night shots with the flash on. Look how huge their pupils are! They’re gonna be seeing spots for days!
Ooo there’s a great video on Minute Food about vanilla extract vs synthetic vanilla. It basically comes down to: if you cook the vanilla, synthetic will taste the exact same, if you never heat up the vanilla it might be worth getting the real stuff.
I assume the same is probably true of most oils, if you use EVOO for salad dressings it might be worth it, but if you’re using it to saute you might as well use sunflower oil and save some money.
Guilty, I have a standard transmission AWD car and it is so much fun to drift corners in the snow!
I never do it in traffic or near other drivers, though. They don’t deserve to pay for the consequences of my stupidity.
That guy is not lacking in any way!
Looks like the kid had a grip all on his own!
I understand your frustration, but unless the voting system is modified to approval or ranked choice you are probably not acting in your best interest voting for a third party. I hate that fact as much as you and I want to see it changed, but that’s the reality of the system we’re in.
“It is hard to remember that people can be both victim and perpetrator at the same time.”
We try often try to assign one group as the good guys and the other as the bad guys. It doesn’t work like that.
And this is why learning history matters. It gives context for these friggin bizarre norms that accumulate. It allows us to realize when the norms are useful, we’re useful and are no longer needed, or we’re always just humans being weird.
Jeff Arcuri - his funniest stuff is his crowd work so he constantly has new stuff to watch.
I agree. Meditation in general - focusing on existence/experience without your mind’s narrative - would probably be good for the OP. The narrative is what is scary, because it is what’s afraid of not existing. Setting that aside can be very liberating.
I mean, even with a union, if a company crumbles the laborers are out of a job.
