Go fuck yourself Wired. This used to be a cool magazine written by people in the know, now it’s Murdoch-grade fearmongering.
I thought I liked it and that it had enough users, thank you for setting me straight.
I’d recommend you don’t sweat the time at all. Unless you enjoy the competitive aspect and are willing to train hard, that is. Even then, I’ve witnessed people who are into racing get discouraged from cycling as they age and their results stop being competitive at a certain level. I like randonneuring because it makes you haul ass, but leaves you enough leeway to enjoy the experience as an adventure and a challenge. I have written a bit about a few rides, if you are interested.
Didn’t know Too Many Zooz covered that song!
Well, it dropped like an hour ago.
Kids up to 90, he’s a really great musician and I’ve never seen more 60-year olds praising rap than in the comments on his stuff.
Pretty please, fuck off with the AI. It’s really not something I need from a browser, don’t inflate your download size for a screen reader, just MAKE IT OPTIONAL in every way.
Pretty please fuck off Mozilla, I always click on this bullshit in trepidation it’s another mandatory pocket or something, I am actually happy these days when it’s just this milquetoast corporate rolplaying
This is a rare “downvoted to negative” post in music, I guess people have strong feelings for him.
a viable alternative
It’s already a viable alternative. I can tell because I’m only here and not there anymore and lack nothing
we need to convince more Redditors to switch over by mentioning Lemmy in the right threads
This is just the worst idea. First off, it would require me to have a reddit account, which I nuked. Second, it’d require me to go to reddit and there’s no more ingress points that won’t rape my eyes. And finally, I’m not using my time and energy proselytizing just to accelerate another tragedy of the commons.
At first I was like “challenge accepted, I love good bimbocore”, but after listening you were right, I do kind of hate this.
Absolutely brilliant. They didn’t even have their two choral voice guys (they had covid at the time), but they have great stage presence and energy and the sound was remarkably crisp for such distortion-heavy music in such a small venue.
I’m glad I’m not the only one into the old British Guy music. Pete and Bas rule and I like the Northern Boys alright too.
Well, Sindhu World is creme de la creme of the UK drill scene at the moment. There’s no one of any age who makes better, more playful / fun and in the case of Northern Boys / Norman Pain more relatable (to the common non-gangster person) rap - I came by this opinion by systematically combing through Pressplay Media and GRM Daily after I saw Pete and Bas for the first time. Also, both 91shots and Handsome Dexter produce top notch industrial-strength instrumentals - I give a slight edge to Dexter for playfulness and crazy pockets he carves in unexpected places.
Though, after listening to it all, I have to say Norman Pain hits especially hard. It reminds me of Alice in Chains in the nineties coming as a counter to all the glam prancing around.
Performance of OSMand is actually great on mid-level SOCs I usually get. Anything with snapdragon 6xx or more and performance is a non-issue for me, especially since it has a new opengl2 renderer. Also, it uses very, very little battery navigating me with voice (so screen off) along a pre-defined GPX on locally downloaded maps in airplane mode. And the simplicity of the interface is a downside once you spend a few hours tinkering with OSMand and get used to all it can do.
They’re one of my favourite bands ever, seen them live in a small club in Zagreb a few years ago.
OSMand is a much more powerful tool even with no plugins and it’s a mature app you can count on.
This is a good thread
There’s too many, but I won’t lie if I take any few lines from L. Cohen’s “The Future”:
"Your servant here, he has been told To say it clear, to say it cold It's over, it ain't going any further And now the wheels of heaven stop You feel the devil's riding crop Get ready for the future: It is murder"
