Not new to the community, but new to kamisoris and I’m very curious:
What’s the deal with the asymmetric edge? Am I correct in assuming it’s only meant to be used on one side? Is there any advantage I’m missing making up for the obvious downside?
Does anyone here prefer traditional asymmetric kamisoris over straights? If yes, why?
The guys over at Badger and Blade have a post that I found rather informative.
TLDR:
It’s made to be used by someone else on you
In theory, asymmetric edges can be made to a sharper edge, while lying flat on a surface on the other side
This makes we want to find a left-handed kami so I can use both hands :)
The obvious solution 🤣🤣
@djundjila @wetshavingadmin From what I understand, kamisoris were originally meant to be used by a person shaving someone else. The belief is that you can get a better, longer lasting edge with only one side beveled.

Makes sense if you’re not meant to shave yourself 👍
