Brush: Yaqi Cashmere Synthetic Shaving Brush, Dandelion Green Handle, 24mm
Razor: Gillette Aristocrat (1948-50)
Blade: Lord Super Chrome (3)
Lather: Chiseled Face - Midnight Stag - Shaving Soap
Post Shave: Chiseled Face - Midnight Stag - Aftershave Balm
I don’t know if anyone else gets this, but when first applied, the Stag balm burns my skin a little. It goes away after a minute or two, and then it feels great. But during that time it’s an interesting combination of burning + moisturizing.
It’s pretty immediate, but it fades away after just a minute or two. Because of the scent though, it kinda feels appropriate that it should burn, I just don’t usually get that from a balm and wondering if anyone else gets it too.

Is it an an immediate burn like an alcohol sting, or does it build up slowly like a chemical burn/A&E soap?
