Uh, it’s just on the edge. It takes me 6 hours from Lausanne to Brussels by train. If you add up getting to the airport, airport hell, flight, and getting to the city, it’s not a big difference timewise, but it’s so much more relaxed and comfortable in the train, it’s not even close. Plus internet during the entire ride.
Yeah. Planes may be quicker technically, but they got nothing on rail for the overall time and experience.
Sadly, in the US our rail system is a joke. The lines are owned by freight companies, who are supposed to yield right of way to passenger rail, but don’t, and the government does nothing.
Getting there several hours late is considered good outside of the northeast; getting there a day or more late isn’t uncommon.
Years ago I heard about people using the Feather Cartridge Razor while traveling and being happy with it.
I always check bags so I just put a razor I don’t much care about in my checked baggage. Typically a Gillette Tech because I have an Altoids travel container for it.
After I started wetshaving I started treating carts like DE blades, meaning I found some that work, and realized some don’t work. I’ve had good cart shaves ever since, especially using my new found DE techniques. The price is still high, but it’s only when I’m traveling.

I, too, am traveling. I pack full tub(s) of soap, but use a cartridge.
Lucky for me i could travel by high speed rail(++), no need to ditch the good razors.
Probably faster, too!

💯
Yeah, luckily most European rail lines are state owned, and at least in Switzerland the freight and passenger networks are redundant.
