There was a single bag check and the cop was moving super slowwww so there were about a thousand of us who weren’t able to see the parade even though we were in line for over an hour.

So that was a thing.

It was nice. My husband and I saw that hardly anyone came, but I’m a lemmy user so that didn’t bother me. We went from bar to bar until hanging out with a friend of ours and I passed out drunk on the ground.

You had to line up and go through a security check to see the parade?! Ours is on July 9th this year and it’s in the city so you just walk to wherever you want on the route and wait.

That’s too bad that you didn’t get to see the parade. I hope you were able to do something else fun to celebrate pride.

I went to the pride kickoff rally and march at my state’s Capitol building. It’s been a few years since I’ve been to a pride event, so it was really fun to get out again and be around so many other LGBT people and allies.

Was a thoroughly enjoyable day. Only one counter protester with a “one man for one woman” sign… who got covered in Pride flags.

Lots of wonderful outfits with people just enjoying being themselves.

Went with my partner and met some of her colleagues, which was so great to meet them.

A heck of a lot of walking of course… and Edinburgh is so hilly… but such a gorgeous city.

Was the first time I was really out in public feeling quite comfy in fem clothing too.

As a bit of an introvert though it took a couple of days to recover from all the socialising… plus it was pretty emotionally exhausting with coming out to friends so recently and being out in the march and evening drinks.
