  • I’ve never really “got” slots, it does seems like you’re putting coins in to watch a fancy representation of a dice roll every time.

I really enjoy the machines known as “fruit machines” or “gamblers” or “puggies” in the UK - it’s still RNG at it’s core but at least it’s a bit more interactive in how you activate the main and special features, and it’s fun learning what the games are and how each machine behaves.

Plus, if you do drop the jackpot, it’s nice having the next round of pints paid for in advance.

  • Obviously the final answer will be different in every jurisdiction, but I would think it’d be less of a fraud issue - you can’t be accused of sending false information if you’re sending no information.

I suspect where things would get dicey is in the car-as-a-service part - where the EULA of a car software would open you up to legal challenge if you changed any hardware or software function of the car.

It would absolutely 95% get laughed out of court, but not without leaving you with a hefty legal bill no doubt. Obviously the full answer would depend on your local legal system and lawyer’s advice.

I’m pushing 40 and going back to education has done wonders for me. I went in to a study field that I’ve grown up loving and enjoying, thinking I was billy big balls and thinking it would be easy…

…which it was for a few weeks, but one of the biggest things I’ve learned from academia is how much I don’t know. It’s given me a more positive mindset, especially seeing lectures from some of the tutors who have more postnominals than I’ve got in my postcode - I see it as a wonderful opportunity to learn from some of the brightest minds in the country, and to enjoy myself while doing it.

I do get though that higher education is expensive and a big time drain if you’re working full time, but I’ve chosen a study area completely different from my employment - so I’m literally doing it for funsies and my future employment isn’t tied to that which is a very fortunate position to be in.

I’d recommend anyone pop along to their local FE college or local uni, and see what part time or distance learning courses they might offer - the worst that could happen is that nothing interests you!
