Yeah, I’m on the lemmy.world instance, but I was planning on doing something like that. I’ve heard that some bots have been going around deleting posts that mention Lemmy / the Fediverse though, so I guess we’ll see how it goes. :)

I do not cross picket lines. Later this week, once the protest is officially over, I plan on going on Reddit, backing up my data using the PowerDeleteSuite another user posted about, and then overwriting and deleting my comments and posts with a message about the protest, before closing my account entirely.

Lemmy has already grown a nice community of people, and I’ll be glad to contribute and watch it grow over time!

I work in IT, and I don’t have any ‘smart’ things at home. I don’t want to come home and troubleshoot more dumb junk.

I don’t even have a smart watch. My watch tells the time, has a timer, etc and that’s all I need.

Well, I loved Lamy Dark Lilac enough to buy a scalped bottle of it on eBay when it was $120. :D

It’s one of my favorite inks in my collection. I’m just now starting to use it more. My second favorite ink is also a purple one; Diamine Imperial Purple.

I just went Friday to submit my name change court order to the DPS in Texas for a new Driver’s license, and all the people there seemed to be perfectly nice.

I don’t necessarily like it here, but moving is hard, especially when I have a job I like here that’s not entirely remote just yet. If my building ever shuts down and I go to full remote work (possibly planned within 1-2 years at a company level), then I’ll probably move somewhere more LGBT-friendly.

I also noticed that the entire site seems to be down. I tried to go on there to scrub my posts and back up some stuff, and it wouldn’t even load my login.

I don’t need another pen… But a fully transparent Parker 51-style piston filler? HMMMM…

I love the look of these pens, but I haven’t gotten around to buying one just yet. Perhaps one day!

I was honestly just looking for a nicer rollerball pen to stick refills into (like the Pilot G2 or the Pentel Energel refill), and one of the videos that I watched on YouTube suggested a fountain pen video to me. I think it was a video from Goulet?

Once I clicked on it, I really went down the rabbit hole. Coincidentally, my very first pen was a Lamy 2000! I started with my grail and then worked backwards through other interesting ones. Now I have a full case of pens! :D

Same. r/FountainPens was one of the subreddits that I actually interacted with, rather than just lurked on, so I’m glad to see that there’s already a community here on the Fediverse for my favorite obsession. :)

I was watching the counter yesterday as various subreddits went dark, and I started watching when it hit 1200, and woke up this morning with it being over 6000.

There was an initial hurdle to understanding how instances work together / how to search between them, but now that I have that figured out, it’s a lot easier. Most of the communities that I actively interacted with already have similar communities here on Lemmy. r/FountainPens was a big one for me.

I honestly just miss Apollo, since the layout and customization was amazing. I’d also look forward to seeing Slide being ported / forked for the Fediverse, since it’s free and open source.

Being able to customize swipe actions and quickly sort through content, as well as hiding content that I’ve already seen (so it doesn’t show up in my feed every time I refresh), were my favorite features by far.

I don’t know if I’d end up using it personally simply because it can’t post, and it bugs me when there’s a cap loose somewhere, but I really like the look of it!

I’ve never used any orange inks myself, but I’m always tempted to try the Coral ones, because of my name. ;D

They don’t feel chunky when I’m holding them. The grip itself is actually fairly small. I did end up removing the clip from the purple one though. It just ended up seeming better without the clip.

Very nice! The VP is one of my consistently-inked pens. I use mine the most at work.

They’re about 1/5 of the way through the subreddits that said they would go dark. It’s crazy watching all of them blink out in real time.
