    • Lather: Sweyn Forkbeard Mango & Papaya Cream
    • Brush: Razorock Big Bruce 26mm
    • Razor: Leaf Twig
    • Blade: Gillette Wilkinson Sword (India) (7)

Great Razor, great blade, great shave.

This blade is just now starting to feel a little less sharp on shave 7. The other half still has another use in it so going to use this combo again tomorrow.

    • Lather: Proraso Green Soap
    • Brush: AP Shave Co G5C 24mm
    • Razor: Gillette Tech
    • Blade: Gillette Wilkinson Sword (India) (4)

Same hardware combo which worked well yesterday, and unsurprisingly it was good again today. Proraso Green of course is well known so not much to say about that other than that I like it and its cooling property was nice today with it being warm outside.

    • Lather: La Barbiera Classic Soap
    • Brush: AP Shave Co G5C 24mm
    • Razor: Gillette Tech
    • Blade: Gillette Wilkinson Sword (India) (3)

This blade delivered a third great shave. This time in the Tech.

This soap has a sweet woody scent. I’ve used the lemon scented La Barbiera soap more than this one. I am not a massive fan of the scent of the Classic but the performance is ok and the price is very affordable.

    • Lather: Tabac Stick (Vegan Formula)
    • Brush: AP Shave Co G5C 24mm
    • Razor: Gillette Old Type
    • Blade: Gillette Wilkinson Sword (India) (2)

Tabac Tuesday! It has been rare that I shave on a Tuesday but I just recently moved to daily shaving so decided to do a Tabac Tuesday.

How was the shave? Glad you asked. It was great! The lather was slick, the blade and razor combo made the shave efficient and smooth. Even after one WTG pass most of the hair was gone.

    • Lather: Noxzema Yellow Tube Cream
    • Brush: Razorock Big Bruce 26mm
    • Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable
    • Blade: Gillette Wilkinson Sword (India) (1)

This blade was one that I really liked but I hadn’t used it in a while because I’ve been trying lots of other blades. I wasn’t sure if I would still feel the same about it before today’s shave. Well it turns out I still really like it. Smooth and Plenty sharp for me. It’s also fortunate I still like them because I have loads of them left.

    • Lather: Proraso White Soap
    • Brush: AP Shave Co G5C 24mm
    • Razor: Gillette Tech
    • Blade: RK Stainless (2)

You can my post from yesterday for my thoughts because today was largely the same. Blade was fine but not great in my Tech much like it was in my Slim yesterday.

    • Lather: De Vergulde Hand Stick
    • Brush: AP Shave Co G5C 24mm
    • Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable
    • Blade: Derby Extra (2)

Quite a nice shave overall. Done with the Derby blade now. It’s not for me but I’m sure it is for some people. This soap has been sitting in my travel things for a while but decided to pull it out today. It has a scent which I can’t describe well, but it’s soapy and fresh. The lather it made was slick as well.

    • Lather: Sweyn Forkbeard Mango & Papaya Cream
    • Brush: AP Shave Co G5C 24mm
    • Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable
    • Blade: Derby Extra (1)

The only thing that was new to me on this shave is the blade, so I’ll write a bit about that. I’ve avoided the Derby Extra because of the mixed but generally somewhat negative talk I’ve seen about it. But today I decided to try it. My conclusion? Not particularly sharp, left some more stubble on my face than others, but smooth on on the parts of my face which don’t have the thickest hairs and a little tuggy on the thicker parts. So it wasn’t the most pleasant or effective for me, but for someone with thinner hair who shaves daily I think it might be quite good. Perhaps that explains why some love it and some hate it (like marmite).

    • Lather: Proraso Green Soap
    • Brush: AP Shave Co G5C 24mm
    • Razor: Lord 1822L
    • Blade: ASCO Platinum (4)

This is the Lord razor also called the L6, not the one with a Tech style head (which I prefer). This razor was still able to give me a close shave but it was not that comfortable to me. I even got a single nick which I haven’t had in quite a while.

The blade is still going strong on shave 4, Proraso is Proraso and the G5C knot is excellent.

    • Lather: Nivea Sensitive Pro Liquid Cream
    • Brush: Razorock Big Bruce 26mm
    • Razor: Gillette Tech
    • Blade: ASCO Platinum (3)

Another great shave with this blade and it matches quite well with this razor for me.

This shaving cream is also good. It produces copious amounts of lather and is slick enough. It is a bit of an unusual format for a shaving cream, being in a liquid form and coming in a bottle with a pump. It also takes plenty of water which perhaps wouldn’t be expected with it being a thinner consistency to begin with.

    • Lather: Folk Soap
    • Brush: AP Shave Co G5C 24mm
    • Razor: Gillette Tech
    • Blade: ASCO Platinum (2)

Overall a very nice shave. The ASCO Platinum was just as smooth as the first shave but a little less sharp. It hadn’t lost anywhere near enough sharpness to make the shave uncomfortable, but it didn’t feel quite as sharp as last time, also worth considering that I was using it in a different razor so that may be the cause.

I posted about this soap last time I used it on R*ddit. It’s the only shaving soap made by Folk Soap in Wales. I bought it through Etsy. For me I find it to be a good soap. Very slick and produced a good lather.

    • Lather: Proraso White Soap
    • Brush: AP Shave Co G5C 24mm
    • Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable
    • Blade: ASCO Platinum (1)

A very comfortable shave. The ASCO blade was very smooth and sharp enough. It reminded me a bit of the Gillette Silver Blue. I will see if it changes with more shaves but the first shave was good.
