A quick evening shave to give MdC Absinthe a try. It’s a nice scent, though I get more mint than anise so far. It also gave my face a tiny tingle – I’m hoping I’m not also sensitive to anise! It might be something else though, Black Ice doesn’t give me the same feeling. We’ll see.

The lather was great though, can’t complain there.

I really like the sheep base, but Varen gives me a bit more frag burn than I’d like. Unfortunate, since I really like the scent. I might rotate this one out for Scot’s Pine or something.

Definitely gives an excellent shave though!

Great lather and a nice mild scent. I very much enjoyed shaving with this soap, but would have enjoyed a slightly stronger scent.

I also loaded too much soap, making it harder to get the water level right. Next time, I think I need to try with about half as much soap.

Overall, it was a really great shave.

Oro Valley is a great scent. The slight spiciness plays well with the citrus in Spearhead Leather. A great start to the weekend.

I guess it’s a difficult problem to solve, but it creates some very funny/bizarre results.
