    Citrus

    • Brush: Stirling Soap Co. Zenith Boar Brush 31mm × 50mm
    • Razor: Mongoose Razors Alumigoose
    • Blade: Feather Professional
    • Lather: Stirling Soap Co. Black Pepper Lime
    • Aftershave: Barrister and Mann Cheshire
    • Fragrance: Echt Kölnisch Wasser N° 4711
    • Talc: Pinaud Clubman Finest Powder

This concludes a week of using the Alumigoose, and I love this razor. Really a shame it’s out of production.

Another interesting curation of shaving components. My recollection (distant) is that the Alumigoose is a fairly mild razor and therefore has broad appeal due to it being a safe and close shaver. True?

Yes, it’s mild, but not inefficient. You’re spot on!

@djundjila @wetshavingadmin I use a RazoRock Hawk v3 almost every time I shave after having spent several years trying tons of other razors. There’s just something so satisfying about an AC blade shave that makes it tough for me to use anything else.

I’ve tried a Hawk too, but I think it was a V2, and also the Wolfman WR4.

I can see what you mean about the AC blade, they are really pleasant. Similar to injector blades IMO.

Have you tried GEM razors? I think I might like that format of SE board even more

@djundjila I have several GEM razors and have had some good shaves but they do require careful attention by comparison, particularly under the jawline and the neck. My favorite is the G Bar aka Heavy Flat Top. It has such an interesting heavy duty design that feels like it might last forever.

Yeah, the G Bar is nice, but nothing tops the clever and sturdy design of the Micromatics IMO (MMOC, Clog-Pruf, Peerless, and Flying Wing/Bullet Tip)

They are the pinnacle of safety razor design 😊
