Is the Lemmy server still slow for anyone else? I restarted everything but I don’t notice much improvement.
Update: It’s still slow for me. The host gave us more RAM and stuff to see if it’ll settle down. I’m pretty actively keeping an eye on things, so hopefully it clears up.
Still intermittently slow for me. I’m getting frequent HTTP 502 errors and TCP timeouts both of which could trace back to server resource issues but I do wonder if your server is behind a proxy.
A few hours ago they increased shared memory for PostgreSQL. I guess the general RAM increase didn’t include that? Not sure. Things feel faster to me but I’ll give it some time.
Yes, my initial impression is that it is very responsive but we’ll see. Thank you!
They’ve taken multiple steps behind the scenes, most recently right before or after your reply here. I’m not sure what they did, but it had to do with postgresql. I really don’t know what happened recently, as our user count and instance activity hasn’t seen much of an increase. Hopefully just a temporary glitch.
Yeah, it’s weirdly slow, still.
Same here. And on Voyager, the WQ Thread doesn’t seem to be pinned ( it is though on Jerboa, but I cannot post from Jerboa anymore 🤷♂️)
Ah, the pin problem I can fix. I was experimenting with only pinning it as local, but not community. It seems pinning as both is still the way to go, which I already knew, but decided to change anyway 😂
I opened a support ticket with the hosting people and they did some stuff to fix the slowness. We think it has to do with the database. It does seem faster than it has been, but I’m not sure if it’s fully back up to where it used to be.
Seems a lot faster than the last few days, so yay!
Well, some things were still slow for me so I looked at the logs. Long story short, support says we have to increase our resources.
Edit: they increased the resources for now to see if it helps. If it does help, then that’s the long term solution.
Thanks for looking into it!
