I noticed again today that my shaving moves are much more precise in the morning or afternoon, compared to later in the evening. A close and smooth shave.

    Have a good day!

Yeah, tiredness and straight razors don’t mix well

Requires more concentration, though, if I’m tired.

          It’s not all downside, though:

          Evening shaves after Djunior’s bedtime, without a schedule, enjoying the šmellz++;

    Te Java ❤

    • Brush: Zenith r/Wetshaving exclusive MOAR BOAR (31 mm × 57 mm bleached boar)
    • Razor: Thiers Issard Le Dandy
    • Lather: Turtleship Te Java
    • Aftershave: Declaration Grooming Chaotic Neutral
    • Fragrance: Stirling Soap Company Ramblin’ Man

I found another great scent combo today. Te Java → Chaotic Neutral → Ramblin’ man is one of those greater-than-the-sum-of-its-parts deals and got immediately got me compliments this morning. The Thiers Issard is also a pleasure to use.

    • Brush: Brad Sears Scotsman XL 28mm Super Badger

    • Razor: J.A. Henckels Friodur 14 Full Hollow Square Point (Straight Shave 369)

    • Lather: Barrister and Mann - Cheshire - Soap

    • Post Shave: Barrister and Mann - Cheshire - Aftershave

    • Post Shave: Thayers - Lemon - Toner

Wonderful shave. Great scent. Great soap base. The brush was cloud-like, and the razor was sharp but soft as a feather. Perfect!

Yes. I saw that earlier. I did not know about Te Java or Turtleship so I went and looked it up. Is the mango butter, grass-fed beef, tussah silk etc. distinctive as a soap base? There are so many great ones out there.

I really enjoy this soap base. It’s very creamy (more so than other artisan soaps) and dense, but it’s not better than any of our topical artisan bases.

Buy it for the Te Java scent, not for the base. Te Java it fantastic! Would you like a smush to see whether you like it?

Thank you for the offer! I already looked into getting a sample. They’re out of stock at the moment, but I can pick one up when they make some more. That will be more convenient, and less expensive overall, than having a smush make its way across the pond.

    Delicious Darkness

    • Brush: Zenith r/Wetshaving exclusive MOAR BOAR (31 mm × 57 mm bleached boar)
    • Razor: Thiers Issard Le Dandy
    • Lather: Barrister and Mann Brew Ha-Ha
    • Aftershave: Barrister and Mann Leviathan

Brew Ha-Ha and Leviathan are a pair of good and bad twin. The same coffee note feels dark in Leviathan but warm and happy in Brew Ha-Ha. This pairing always throws me for a loop. A delicious loop.

    Saturday afternoon shave ++;

BTW, I put the broken Moar Boar next to my backup Moar Boar in this picture, and when u/Scorpio93x saw it, he noticed that the fresh one has a different colour. Apparently, soap further bleaches already bleached boar knots. TIL

    • Brush: Maggard 24mm Synthetic
    • Razor: Personna BBS-0
    • Blade: Personna Lab Blue (3)
    • Lather: Barrister & Mann - Roam - Soap
    • Post Shave: Chatillon Lux - Admiral - Aftershave
    • Post Shave: Eufros - Dama Noche - Balm

First impression of the Personna “BBS-0” is that it’s a nice mild-medium razor with good efficiency and it’s pretty natural to find the angle. Normally the Soft Heart base works great but today it seemed to lack residual slickness, and I’m not sure if it was because of the large flat area on the razor, or maybe I gave it too much water.

    • Brush: Wolfman WRB2 Bronze w/AP Shave Co MiG 26mm Premium Hybrid
    • Razor: Wolfman Razors WR2/WRH2

    • Lather: Barrister and Mann - 42 - Soap
    • Post Shave: Barrister and Mann - 42 - Aftershave

42 is such an enjoyable scent. When coupled with Omnibus and the extraordinary MiG synthetic knot, I could not help be get a great lather. And the Wolfman WR2 delivers, of course. Wonderful evening shave.
