2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

@djundjila asked where the Facharbeit has been. Well, here it is. I did an edge refresh on it last night using synthetic stones and received, by far, the best shave I’ve had with this razor. 2-pass BBS, smooth, and very comfortable. A 3-pass shave would have been ultra-enjoyable, but I did not have the time.

As I have been doing lately, I pushed this edge’s sharpness as far as I could and used post-hone stropping to correct any micro-alignment issues and to add a little convexity to the edge geometry. I was convinced that I went too far. Here is what the edge looked like after one shave and this result is far better than what I was expecting.

So, while it is October 1, the first day of TabOKtober for some of you, it is Settantisemo Straightember 31 for me. Four more shaves on this tub. I ought to be excited to move on, and I need to move on, but I’ll be a little sad to see this end.

    Enjoy your Sunday!

Good to see the Facharbeit again! I should have followed your Straightember philosophy of refreshing a bunch of razor edges and use them, I might have made more happy discoveries like the Bismarck 😀

Yes! Taking what I thought were great edges and pushing them during a refresh has been very instructive. I had no idea I would learn so much.
