    • Prep: warm water
    • Razor: RazoRock Hawk V2
    • Blade: KAI Captain Protouch MG
    • Brush: RazoRock Beehive 28 mm
    • Lather: Moon Soaps - Union
    • Post Shave: Moon Soaps Old School balm; moisturiser

Back into head shaving with a 1 pass shave. I also switched my Lemmy client/app from Eternity to Thunder and now enjoy a bit of a nicer interface after getting more familiar with it…

Shaving my head with the Hawk is very nice, I did this before my late shift and it gave me a good result. Union is lightly mentholated (quite nice for a not so warm day here) and over time, the very fluid old school “balm” has grown on me. I like the pump mechanism. I hope to shave more often now that I’m back at my regular workplace and my home.

Unfortunately I don’t feel very well since my grandmother is probably going to die soon and the whole situation has me torn. She wants it and due to her age of 91 and her various ailments, it’s the best for her. But it’s still my grandma and the process hurts. I’m glad to have my work to distract me a bit.

Prem Base is now On Prem Base

    • Brush: Zenith 506B MB (27 mm × 51 mm Manchurian badger)
    • Razor: Zwilling J. A. Henckels 14 (8/8", extra hollow ground, carbon steel)
    • Lather: Catie’s Bubbles – Reflection
    • Post Shave: Catie’s Bubbles – Reflection
    • Fragrance: Tom Ford – Tobacco Vanille

    What a pleasant shave!

This is my first use of Catie’s Bubbles Premium base. I was warned by u/J33pGuy13 to load super lightly, and he was right. This base loads quickly and hydrates easily. I’m looking forward to dialling it in over the next few uses, but even this first shave worked out great.

The scent is really something special; dry, spicy, a bit tart somewhere in the background, a hint of sweetness, really fascinating. It invites you to sniff it again and again to understand what’s going on. I’m really happy about this blind buy.

    • Brush: Maggard 24mm Tuxedo Synthetic
    • Razor: Chiseled Face - Legacy Raw Titanium (#69)
    • Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium (1)
    • Lather: Chatillon Lux/Storybook Soap Works - La Forêt de Liguist - Soap
    • Post Shave: Stirling Soap Co. - Varen - Aftershave
    • Post Shave: House of Mammoth - Mood Indigo - Balm

I’m turning into a night shaver as my wife is in the hospital recovering from surgery 🩹.

I like shaving at night. There’s no rush, and honestly by the time I wake up it’s still a good close feeling.

The Storybook lather was poofier than I remember, but man is it slick and good.
