- Brush: Wild West Brushworks Blue Space 26mm Cashmere
- Razor: ERN 2611 7/8 Hollow Ground Round Point - ERN ATOR 6/8 Hollow Ground Round Point
- Lather: Summer Break Soaps - Valedictorian - Soap
- Aftershave: Summer Break Soaps - Valedictorian - Aftershave
2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.
This was a fun comparison between these two razors; owned by u/EldrormR. The 7/8 ERN has a bevel angle of 16 degrees whereas the 6/8 ERN has a bevel angle of 17.6 degrees. Both razors are within what I consider to be the geometric comfort zone of 15-18 degrees. In this test I was interested to see, given knowledge of the two angles, if I could detect a difference. Both razors were honed on the same Jnat with the same nagura sequence and the feel of each razor was that of a Jnat edge. I thought I could detect that the 7/8 ERN cut slightly easier and that the 6/8 required a little stroke repitition on each area of the face to obtain the same result. Nothing scientific here. Confirmation bias is strongly at play. Still, it was a fun comparison.

- Brush: Wolf Whiskers – “Gianmaria” w/Maggard 26mm Synthetic
- Razor: Chiseled Face - Legacy Raw Titanium (#69)
- Blade: Personna 74 (34)
- Lather: Maggard Razors - Tobacco & Leather - Soap
- Post Shave: Razorock - Puros - Aftershave
- Post Shave: Goodfellow & Co. - Face Lotion - Kelp & Sea Mineral
This is a pretty old sample, so I’m not sure if the Maggard base (made by Through the Fire Fine Crafts) is still the same. The lather is pretty big, yet semi-dense, and has sort of a “thin” type of slickness to it. Not my favorite, but it’s serviceable and this scent is in my wheelhouse.

- Brush: Chisel and Hound – Flame On with v26 Fanchurian
- Razor: Böker – Abalone (6/8", full hollow, carbon steel, French point)
- Lather: Le Père Lucien – Cologne Fougère
- Post Shave: Brut – Original
First shave with new-to-me Cologne Fougère. It’s a fresh, green scent that I can tell I’ll enjoy.
This is now the third use of the C&H with the v26, and it’s going well so far, in particular the density is nice: it’s dense enough for a good backbone, but not so much as to have bad flow-through. The handle looks and feels divine.
MARCH MADNESS 2025 DAY 2
- Brush: Unbranded Marble w/ Maggard G5
- Razor: Chiseled Face Legacy
- Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
- Lather: Maurer & Wirtz - Tabac
- Post Shave: Maurer & Wirtz - Tabac splash
- Fragrance: Chicago Grooming Co - Sheperd
Still having a hard time building a Tabac lather as easily as other soaps. I can get it there, but takes a lot more energy for some reason… oh well… I had to do double down on the old man scents with the Sheperd frag, but feel and smell nice.
I was about to say “that’s odd, tabac is pretty easy”, but I only have experience with the tallow version.
I also work harder with the vegan base than I remember with the tallow base.
Glad I’m not not the only one. Same thing with different types of brushes too
