    The Thu 06 Mar 2025

    • Brush: Zenith Kintsugi 505CB SE
    • Razor: Filarmónica 14 Doble Temple (8/8", extra full hollow, carbon steel)
    • Lather: Southern Witchcrafts – Pomona
    • Post Shave: Southern Witchcrafts – Pomona
    • Fragrance: Mäurer & Wirtz – Tabac Man Fire Power

Ok, I think we might have our first big surprise (to me) based on the current state (a couple hours before shavinginct’s official count):

Scrape time: Thu 06 Mar 2025, 06:20:48 GMT

    Artisan Brand
    Spearhead Shaving Co. 10
    Talent Soap Factory 10
    Declaration Grooming 7
    Stirling Soap Co. 7
    Summer Break Soaps 6
    Barrister and Mann 5
    Catie’s Bubbles 5
    MacDuff’s Soap Co. 5
    Noble Otter 5
    Chicago Grooming Co. 4
    Chiseled Face 4
    House of Mammoth 4
    Southern Witchcrafts 4
    Zingari Man 2
    Total: 78

I didn’t think that Z would get kicked before relative newcomers like Macduffs and Talent. Also, a remarkable rally by Noble Otter which seemed to be in trouble when I went to bed yesterday, and what’s going on with Mammoth? I’m loving the horse race aspect of this format.

For today’s theme, I’m going with Courtney’s soap. SW has one of my favourite bases and I enjoy the scent. The theme also reminds me of a misunderstanding I had for the first months in the hobby, where I naturally assumed that Catie’s Bubbles was being made by some lady called Catie, I learned about Chris and how he basically created the brand to prove a point about vegan bases in the 2021 LG podcast, at least that’s the narrative I remember now. I could also have gone with CGC, another brand that I enjoy a lot, but today felt like a Pomona day.

    Mar 6, 2025 - Theme Thursday: Women’s History Month

    • Brush: Dogwood Handcrafts Purple Hybrid 28mm Declaration Grooming B7 Badger Knot
    • Razor: Mühle Rocca R94
    • Blade: Gillette Platinum [2]
    • Lather: Southern Witchcrafts - Lycanthropy - Soap (Vegan)
    • Post Shave: Southern Witchcrafts - Lycanthropy - Aftershave (Alcohol Free)
    • Fragrance: Chatillon Lux - Sunrise on LaSalle - Eau de Toilette

Courtney’s Desairology was my gateway into artisan Wetshaving products. So many of Southern Witchcrafts’ unique scents are favorite staples for me now. Her vegan lather is also exceptional.

Lycanthropy was the first full sized tub of soap I ever bought, and also the first tub kill for me. It’s a great scent.

2 passes. Face lather. Excellent shave.

This Bon Temps Barbershop soap just arrived, along with this Maher & Grosh razor. The soap comes from The Cajun Blade. I bought it from the store on Etsy. The razor comes from The Cajun Blade too, but he sent it to me so I could try his Jnat edge.

I have used this soap base before, it is rich and velvety and wants to be well hydrated. When it is, it is extremely slick, yet rich feeling.

The edge was excellent. This is exactly what a Jnat edge should be. Very comfortable and safe feeling yet very keen. I had a very close and comfortable shave today!
