I was feeling daring today, so War it was. Expectations were low, but easily surpassed. My first contact was rough, but today I had the impression that I could use it for a month without being disgusted with myself or the world. Not that I did enjoy it, but it wasn’t that bad. We’ll see how Mrs. Porkbutts will react.

In yesterday’s shave, the newly refreshed edge of the Bismarck had been a wonderful surprise, so I decided to change nothing about this setup. And, it wasn’t a fluke, this razor’s edge is now as smooth and sharp as anyone could wish for.

Settantisemo Straightember 32 for me and another refreshed edge. I went back to the Nakayama Maruka Shouhonyama for this one. I’ve been using the factory Koraat edge on this razor since I received it, and this is actually the first time I’ve sharpened any Koraat.
The resulting shave was superbe (French spelling and pronunciation). My Koraat 6/8 is custom, but I worked with Ulrik to create a Koraat 13-2.0 – a V2.0 of the Filarmónica 13 Doble Temple. This razor shaves as good as it looks.

Despite the warm weather, I wanted to welcome my favourite month and season with a wonderful autumn/fall scent - what’s better suited than Samhain?!
Samhain is surely one of my absolute favourite scents ever in wetshaving. I don’t know what exactly draws me into it, but the combo is certainly unique. Also, it was one of my first ever high-class artisan soaps so it also holds sentimental value to me.
2 pass shave with the great Ever-Ready today, much more pleasant than yesterday’s SOTD. Only 3 tiny weepers around the moustache area.
Otherwise, a pretty chill day. Had the day off, will start in the late shift again tomorrow. Time for a horror film now!
