    Good shave. Warm weather’s rolling in and my mood is noticeably improved. Still an all time favourite scent I’m halfway through my second tub.

    Wednesday, January 24, 2024 - Mismatch Shave

    • Prep: hot shower
    • Brush: Yaqi Cashmere Synthetic Shaving Brush, Dandelion Green Handle, 24mm
    • Razor: Edwin Jagger DE 89L
    • Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (1)
    • Lather: Barrister & Mann - Leviathan - Shaving Soap
    • Post Shave: Zingari Man - The Watchman - After Shave Balm

    I did something I literally never do today - I used a balm that doesn’t match my soap. I know most, if not all, of you do that regularly (or aftershave if not necessarily balm), but for me I get excited about having the scent that I shaved with linger throughout the day. But my Leviathan balm is almost gone, and I used up my Watchman soap long before my Watchman balm and I still have a decent amount left, so this seemed like a natural time to try it out. And I’m pleased to say I didn’t hate it! The two scents have kinda sorta similar themes and I can see myself doing it again sometime.

    Wednesday, January 24, 2024: Witchcraft Wednesday

    It’s Wednesday again, and its also time to get out the big boar to make a dent into the soap. A nice shave, and this time, I managed not to cut into my nostrils or to maim my face in any way.

    • Lather: A&E - Ouddiction (K2e)
    • Post Shave: Thayer’s Aloe Vera toner; Natura Siberica ASB gel

    Despite being the late post, I actually shaved my head about an hour earlier today; just forgot to post here. Seems like my subconscious likes me sleep-deprived.

    So today’s shave could’ve been wonderful… Ouddiction is a great scent, K2e is nice and slick… But the blade. I forgot the MFing dulling blade in there. You get the idea. The shave was rough and I actually got caught up a bit on the back of my head and gave myself a tiny little cut there. This hasn’t happened in ages and it’s especially annoying that it yet again happens with the Greencult. All of my worst shaving accidents happened with that razor, so I kinda have a love-hate relationship with it. It’s damn efficient but it seems like I have lots of bad luck with it, even though today it was definitely due to me forgetting to change blades.
