MARCH MADNESS 2025 DAY 24
- Brush: Rad Dinosaur Creations Copper Inferno w/ Trotter T1
- Razor: Henson AL13++
- Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
- Lather: Zingari Man - The Navigator
- Post Shave: Zingari Man - The Navigator splash
Went for some more gentle gear today. The Navigator doesn’t strike me as an incredibly complex scent, but sometimes you just want a simple, neutral, and clean smell and this fits that bill perfectly. Happy Monday everybody.
Den tour day 11? 10?
Same gear
Smash by house of mammoth scented by barrister and mann.
Great soap, great scent and son in a pif from Ben himself.

- Brush: Chisel & Hound “Spice Lily” - TurnNShave Tuxedo 26mm synthetic
- Razor: GEM - MMOC (first gen, 1930-1932)
- Blade: Personna - GEM PTFE (8)
- Lather: Mike’s Natural Soaps - Orange, Cedarwood, & Black Pepper
- Post Shave: Fine Accoutrements - Italian Citrus Aftershave splash
- Post Shave: Stirling - Glacial Unscented Aftershave balm
- Fragrance: Chiseled Face - Summer Storm EdP
I really like this Mike’s + Italian Citrus combination, it’s perfect for a sunny California morning.
Yet again I’m impressed with the shave this MMOC gives me. Even though it has a ton of blade exposure, it shaves intuitively and comfortably. Great results with no irritation.
Onward to face the week. Have a good one y’all!
Mon 24 Mar 2025
- Brush: Zenith 506B MB (27 mm × 51 mm Manchurian badger)
- Razor: Thiers Issard Le Dandy (5/8", square point, carbon steel)
- Lather: Martin de Candre – Absinthe
- Post Shave: L’Occitane – Eau de Baux
First use of Absinthe for me. I really like the MdC base, it’s easy to work with and super slick, and the scent of Absinthe is nice. I think if I was given the soap to smell in a blind test, I’d have guessed that it’s a spearmint chewing gum fragrance, though. Primed with the knowledge that they were going for absinthe, I can sniff the anise/fennel, but it doesn’t scream fée verte to me. Not a problem, since it smells good anyway. Great all-EU-artisan shave.
The resilience of TSF is astounding. These numbers aren’t final until ShavingInCt confirms them, but it looks like HoM, last year’s winner, is done. The Mammoth Mafia seems to follow in the footsteps of the once mighty Order of the Stag.

- Brush: Wolf Whiskers – “Gianmaria” w/Maggard 26mm Synthetic
- Razor: Wolfman Guerilla (Gen 1)
- Blade: Personna 74 (51)
- Lather: Barrister & Mann - Fougère Classique - Soap
- Post Shave: Barrister & Mann - Petrichor - Aftershave
- Post Shave: Dove Men+Care Ultra-Hydra Cream
I’m continuously impressed by this blade. The OG Guerilla is on the mild side, and this blade does seem to excel in mild razors. If you’re someone who loves high efficiency and not much blade feel, the Guerilla is worth taking a look at. I’ve heard the new ones are a bit more aggressive, though.
I have at least 2 more P74 blades, but can’t see myself having enough thrill to put them through their paces in the future.
If anyone here 1) has never tried a P74, 2) thinks they’d like to try one, 3) is willing to push through the first 10 shaves which might give them weepers, then let me know.
