    • Brush: Chisel & Hound Gulf Short 26mm V22 Fanchurian
    • Razor: C.V. Heljestrand MK 31 11/16 Söderfors Extra Specialstål Full Hollow - Dubl Duck Goldedge 5/8 Full Hollow
    • Lather: Wholly Kaw - Hiatus - Soap
    • Aftershave: Wholly Kaw - Hiatus - Aftershave
    • Talc: Yardley Classic

      3 passes. Face lather. Good shave.

    This was a test shave for two razors that I honed on my LPB coticule. These razors were finished on water, whereas previous honings on this stone finalized with either oil or soapy water. This was a very good shave; excellent by closeness standards, but I nicked myself, and throughout the shave I felt that both edges could be pushed further.

    This is the first daily post made by cronjob using a little script I put together. It worked!

    It was too difficult to figure out how to get it to say “31st” instead of “31”, for example, but other than that it’s cool. We still have that counter, plus I’m also able to mention the day of the week in the body, as well as the title. It’s the little things, right?

    Great shave. You & I (Will Die) is a horrible name for a soap, but it’s a great scent.

      Something like this would probably work (untested):

      # Get the day of month as a number
      day=$(date +%-d)

      # Determine the correct suffix
      case $day in
          1|21|31) suffix="st";;
          2|22) suffix="nd";;
          3|23) suffix="rd";;
          *) suffix="th";;
      esac

      # Print the date with the ordinal suffix
      formatted_date=$(date +"%B %-d$suffix, %Y")

      Another way scripting in bash kinda sucks: you can’t call off to nice easy to use libraries that make this sort of thing trivial :)

        I found maybe that exact same thing but not as refined as yours and sort of gave up on it. I had to focus on making everything else work first haha.

        This sort of makes sense to me, though. I’ll try to incorporate it.

    Primidi 11 Germinal an 233 de la Révolution, jour de Pervenche

    A great and very close shave, and the MdC base really makes for a slick base. I think this will become a favorite very soon.

    Have a good evening!
